Is there any way to tell what date a car was built on? Tranny codes tell you the exact day and time but VINs only give year. My VIN is JM1BJ246221615792. Any idea what month of the year (or better) 615792 was built?

Thanks. I actually ordered the P5 but it won't be in for a week or so. The dealer gave me the VIN and I specifically asked for a post-Feb 28th production car so I was wondering if there's any way to guesstimate the production date simply by knowing the VIN. However the driver's door is the first place I'll look when it arrives, thanks!

no problem. I just wish I held out for a 2001 Protege. The dealer
actually thought the 1.8L engine was peppier

I Have the 2000 ES 1.8 my friend has the Protege5 2.0 and i drive both of them a lot. sometimes back to back. I cann't tell which is faster. and there both fun to drive. so who the hell cares.
