it's been going on for a while now, my car drifts slightly to the left when at highway speed, and the steering wheel tilts to the right when car's going in a straight line, figure it's time for an alignment

I would like to NOT do it at the dealership (they charge $70 with a coupon), so my question is, what's a good reputable shop/storechain that does good work at a very good price.

And for those that did an alignment, how much did you pay?

Dude....I responded in Edmunds...$50 for a '91 Jetta GL... It was like a BF Goodrich/Goodyear place. I would expect to pay about that much. Actually, when I had to get my pro's alignment done at the dealer it was like $80.

No...only my experience matters. That should be good enough for you

 

if your roads are crowned it can cause the same problem.
alignments are about $50 here. i perfer local independent shops to any chain stores.

 

Right. Hank, have you tried driving in a big flat parking lot to see how your alignment is?

 

have done that, and the steering wheel is still tilted to the right, but the car seems to drive straight at low speed, it's at high speed that the car may drift off sometimes (which could be the fault of the road, but not sure...).

 

souldnt you car still be under warranty? my car did the same thing you described before i got into my accident, then it was worse so i had the dealer ship do it for me under the accident. then i needed another alignment done when i lowered my car and they did that for free under warranty so i diddnt have to pay. id at least try to get it done for free.

 

i wish it was still under warranty. But see, alignment is a 'wear and tear' item that falls under the 'adjustment period' provided by Mazda, which only lasts for ONE year and 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.

I had my headlights re-aimed for free during the first year as part of that adjustment period, I don't think I have it anymore
