Question MSpeed Protege Piston

can the mazdaspeed piston have similar dimension with Mp5 piston? can they be swap into MP5 motor?
stock mp5 piston can't go beyond 8 psi boost, i believe MS piston can take more than14psi. I'm planning to turbocharge my motor.

where can i purchase a set of MS pistons?
how much?

You don't need to special order the MS piston. In th USA the pistons are the exact same. In Asia the compression ratio is 10.7:1 and in USA it's 9.1:1. Stock US spec pistons for any 2.0L motor should do just fine! Good luck.

The Japanese engine is called the FS-ZE and runs a 10.7:1 compression as opposed to our FS-DE with the 9:1 comp, hence the difference in pistons. It produces more power, approx. 166hp with less torque, about 131lb/ft.

The FS-ZE is also a 2.0 16v but also has different intake, exhaust cam, different intake manifold, ECU tuning etc, etc for the extra top end power.

If you wanna spend money on internals, try getting some forged connecting rods and pistons...this is the weak point on this engine and with forged pistons and rods you should be able to boost like crazy ans not worry as long as you dump enough fuel...keep in mind though without the mazdaspeed lsd you will blow that tranny after about 250lb ft of torque at the flywheel

The mazdaspeed can boost a little more becasue it is a smaller turbo than most people use on their P5's. Most people use a T3 and the speed is a T25 so the flow characteristics on the smaller turbo are different. Let's say you have 12 PSI on a T25 to give you X amount of HP, well then you may only need 8 PSI on a T3 because of the flow differences to give you the same. These are not 100% accurate analogies, but you get my point.

The tranny would be the next weekest point, but the 250 ft-lb of torque is not entirely accurate. There are guys with over that amount still roling today. But yes, you would definatly want to take it a little easier if you have that much power.

I have heard up to 350lb-fts. But that is more with the first-gen G25MX-R rather than the G15MX-R on third gens. What is the difference? I don't know, besides gear ratios. I think the mounts are much softer on third gens however, I would replace those with any high amount of power, lest you kill your box due to wheelhop.
