Mods for my NEW P5!

Well, first of all, I don't have it yet.. but my family is getting a brand spankin' new (2002) dark blue P5!

I'm a young driver who has been crusin' in amy parents dirty old white minivan.. but not anymore!!

Anyway.. this topic does have a purpose:

I'm wondering if you guys (and gals) could show me some mods you've done on your P5s.

But let me be a bit more specific. I'm not a racer. I'm not into getting more horsepower or going turbo. I'd probably be killed if I went over the speed limit. (Or at least over the speed my parents drive)

Plus, where I live the laws are strict.

I also don't have a ton of time to spend on this. If I can't do the mod ina weekend, then I probably won't have time to do it.

And, to top it off, i know nothing about cars (besides that one pedal is for gas...)

So in short, I'd like to hear (and see, if you have pictures) of your easy, fast, mods that make the P5 look cooler then it alrady does.

I say this cool thing on a honda civic with the back lights.. I don't kno w.. anyway.

Thanks,
Lao_tzu

Well that kind of limits our imagination. How bout a new speaker system followed by a bad *** HU. Tint is always a first mod for me. Functional and it looks good, check your local laws first. Purty little pedals and a new shift ****. And finally, personalized liscense plates are fun. I have 1 BADP5. You can have that one unless you live in Nebraska. Best of luck!

Paint your brake calipers. Cheap & easy to do.

since this seems lke it will be a family car:

1. K&N filter (any car should have one of these anyway..)
2. Tint
3. Sound system. Don't need to go crazy on the sound system though. Just a new HU and speakers.

Go with the basics: Window tint, change out the speakers, paint the calipers, they're easy changes and will make a difference.

$70 ractive intake (having a cai requires you to be scared when driving in the rain...it could suck up water)...this mod makes your car sound more aggressive and gives you more across the board power

a good 35% $150 tint job usually does a good job on the car (cools it down in the summer too)...shop around at tint shops...if they charge to little then the tint probably sucks or they do a poor job (leave big gaps in tint at the top of the windows (a gap should be around an 1/8" and no more (b/c when you have the windows down a little you can see it and it looks cheap

those are some small easy things to do to make it look nicer and all have function (i'm a function over fashion guy)

when i read this, i was like ROFL, but i see your not the racer. MOst of the mods i would have said are mention so i won't bother, but here some mods i like, side weather visors, new rims/tires, depending on where you live, hmmmmm this is so hard without repeating, oh well, that is what i can think of at the moment, since you're not probably putting preformance mods on your car.

I know, I know. I'm not exactly the type of person you usually see around here.

(I'm a guy who likes to do 130 in a 30 zone... and I want to go faster, can you help?)

And tint is included in all the P5's I've seen, it looks totally sweet too. (Dark shiny blue car with black windows)

It also comes with 16" alloy wheels. The sounds pretty good, although not the greatest.. I very well might do something with that.

LED lights sounds very cool. How would I wire them though? As in, to what?

I don't have the car yet, so if it involves too much explenation then I'll just wait and ask when I can follow instructions step by step.

Paint my capilators. This would be an other example of my.. uhh.. well..

What are those?

::very sheepish::

brake calipers.

those grayish things that sit inside the wheels and clamp the "rotor" to make you slow down. Rip the wheel off, tape some newspaper all over the place, and squirt with some engine enamel or grill paint (has to be high temperature paint) with the color of your choice. If you are truly interested in doing it, read some more in-depth directions on the process.

as for the LED's, I would suggest forget it. I believe it was sarcasm though I could be wrong....
