Ok, I want honest opinions here. My 2002 Protege ES is my first car. Is it really worth putting a lot of money into it in performance mods, or just saving up for a better car in the future? Thanks for the input!

MODS

All I have installed on my car had been the MS muffler, MS upper strut bar, and INJEN CAI. I have noticed a considerable change in performance from just these few modifications. Total $$$ spent-roughly $500 usd. Also done s few other things like tint and different interior lights, but those did cost me a thing. Good luck making your decisions on what mods you are going to do. You did make a great decision with the car you did purchase also.

I've already purchased the Mazdaspeed front strut bar, and it's sitting in my garage waiting to be installed (my friend has the tools, I don't ) But anyways, if I do put money into the Pro, I wanna know if it will last. If after a number of years it starts to fall apart or need a new paint job, I wouldn't wanna spend a lot on it. But if I wash it regularly and do routine maintenance, you guys think it would last awhile? If I am gonna spend my money on mods, it better be worth it!

I'd say save money for your 'ultimate' car, but if the MP is 'your ultimate' then go for it. I want to be able to afford a house soon so that has priority, but if I already had one, I'd have fun with my P5!
