Post Mazda Speed Protege

I am seriously looking at the Mazda Speed Protege 2003 or 2003.5 models. Does anyone have any helpful and enlightening comments about the car?

Did mazda already release them for sale to the public?

You can do a search for "Mazdaspeed" on the board and find a lot of information.

I JUST got my Pro5. Talking with the dealer said that there is going to be a 3K markup on the cars before they even hit the showroom based on requests from the internet that mazda received. I would wait a year and get one at cost. If you have a 2.0 keep an eye on MazdaSpeed and look for a turbo upgrade for your car. all the suspension goodies are already available.

Wow! 3K markup! At this time, I feel like I really had made my decision to get the Mazda Speed with Turbo about 90%. I just wanter to give it a test drive.

I will go ahead and do a search on Mazda Speed. TNX

Are you sure that its not just your dealer doing the 3k markup....cuz its upto the dealer how much higher than msrp they want to go

I had tried contacting dealers in Maryland and Southern PA., but none of them has the Mazda Speed Protege in their inventory.

Does anyone know of a dealer near MD. or PA. that has the Mazda Speed? Is the car in showrooms already?

I'm pretty sure I heard the guy correctly. He was talking about an internet pricing hike that Mazda was supporting. I don't believe it was through their site but what dealers around the country were going to be allowed to markup without fear of shortages from Mazda.

I own a Mazdaspeed protege and got it for sticker. This misconseption about dealer markup is completely false. NO dealerships are permitted to sell this car above sticker, as requested by Mazda coorperate.

As for information regarding the differences between the 2003 and 2003.5 Mazdaseed .
The 2003 color choices are Spicy Orange Micha , and Black Micha
It has black and grey cloth interior with orange stiching.
Racing Beat suspension. Sparco pedals , and shift ****.
Garrett T25 Ball Bearing Turbo Charger, Racing Heart 5 spoke wheels. And a LSD.

The 2003.5 Mazdaspeed color choices are Yellow and Gun Metal Grey
It includes NO fog lites, a redesigned front bumper, rear bumper, sideskirts, and the spoiler as well. The interior has yellow stiching instead of orange. The shift **** is Mazdaspeed.
I think that is about it, if i remember anyother differences i will post them later.

here are some great pics of my Mazdaspeed from this past Saturday.

Do we have any pics of the new bumper design?
As for the lack of fogs...sounds fine to me, I'd be tossing in PIAAs anyhow, the stock lights suck!

Okay, so when does that sweet bumper go on sale? I like it better than any I've seen yet for the 01-up noses !
Before seeing those pics, I liked my 99 style nose better and just wanted the MazdaSpeed 99-00 style bumper (Corksport). Now I want the car on that link! oh ya baby, come to papa!

dealers ARE allowed to markup vehicles, however it is regulated by the state the vehicle is sold in,so they can only go so high...check your local laws...also MNAO frowns on markups over MSRP....
