Are you sure it is on the Protege 5? Here in Orlando the P5 is not included on any of the Mazda sales promotions.

Talking I am not too sure.

I am not sure if the MP5 is included in the promotion. Guess I'll pay the dealership a visit this weekend. Thanks for your info.

In my area, they have

"0.0% APR* for 36 months AND no payment for 180 days on ALL 2001 and 2002 Mazda cars"

*- for qualified customers

It says on their homepage too

I got the college grad special, which was 4.9% financing, and no payments for up to 6 months. I got mine in august, so I'm not sure if it's still in effect. Check it out though. Either way, I'm sure there are great deals still out there right now. Good luck!

Mazda Promotion

I just got a mail flyer from Mazda with a certificate for 0% financing, no payment for 180 days for buying a car and a gift certificate for $35 for test driving any Mazda product. About two months ago I got a flyer for a free webcam for test driving a Protege 5.

Talking very tricky!

I went to the Mazda dealer today and found out that the 6 month payment free plan only applied to some of the 2001 models excluding the 2002 Protege 5. Only 0 % APR for 36 month for qualified buyers. I guess the promotion on the Mazda website can be misleading to some buyers.

PS: I really like MP5, espically the sporty looks and the solid feel of a European car. Very nicely built!

Hey Finprof, I'm just curious how this works, and I don't mean to pick on just you, as I've seen this from other people, but on your signature you mention a new BMW and a Porsche along with a 91' Protege DX. How does that work? Are those your parents cars or something? Cause I didn't know we were labeling our parents cars too?

Most of the posters to this board are probably pretty young but I am not. I'm 51 and all three cars are registered to me, none to my parents. My mom is 80, lives 500 miles away and my dad died about 10 years ago.
In my neigborhood everybody has three or four cars, mostly better than mine. For my two neighbors in the back, one has a Lexus LS400, a Jag XK8, a Benz E430 and an Explorer. The other has an Expedition, a 740i and a Viper.
I bought the Protege new when I was living in the city as something that wouldn't result in getting carjacked. Now I use as as my winter car, for hunting and fishing and for going into the city when necessary.
The Protege is a great car. It feels German even though it is Japanese and has a real growl to the engine that is missing from the new BMWs. To me it is worth a whole lot more than its market value of $1500. Besides, like an old pair of shoes it is really comfortable for me.
I was thinking about gettting a P5 which iactually a better car for my needs than the sedan, but I didn't like the high launch RPMs needed for the P5, so I decided to fix up the old Protege. It isn't going to get "slammed" but I can afford some discreet customization.

Is the Mazda offering any rebates? The college grad offer just ended, when is the next incentive going to be and when is it coming? Anyone know?
