Question Manual ?

I am relatively new to the manual world. I can shift just fine and everything but was wondering what some terms mean and how I can learn to do them: Heel toeing, speed shifting, downshifting w/o clutch. Anyone know about these I read about them in car mags all the time but haven't been able to get anyone to explain them to me.

I'm going through the same kinda thing.

Wondering if I should waste $800 + tax of my money for an auto, or save that money and get a manual.

Thanks for the advice I was trying it out today very useful on the corners. As for getting a manual I would look at what conditions you drive in. If you have a lot of hills or do lots of driving in stop in go I would get an auto unless you want to give your left leg a major workout. Auto's will be much slower and more expensive to repair if something goes wrong. I didn't get a chance to drive an auto pro. We just looked at manuals. I do know that my contour is quite a bit slower than the manual contours but was much easier to drive when I was in a hilly city (duluth).
