Longer Lasting Car
Routine maintenance can't be overstated. I would take it one step further and suggest the use of sythetic's where ever possible. Oil, trannsmission, brake fluide, clutch fluid, a good quality coolant. Check the air pressure on the tires once a week, it doesn't take long and could prevent tires wearing out too quickly and keep fuel economy in check. Also consider the unstated rules of taking care of a car, avoid potholes, park away from other people in the parking lot, park in the shade whenever possible. That's about it. Good luck.
Re: Longer Lasting Car
Routine maintanence is definately the key. I have a 95 dx with 201,000 miles on it and I can honestly say I have had NO trouble with it. So make sure you keep it up and it will last you for years to come.
