Another Ontarian with a brand new Laser Blue 2003 P5.

Just unloaded the 92 sunbird on the wifes parents and decided to bite the bullet and get a P5. I've been spending all my money on my bike for the past few years, hence the beater :P

I'm pretty impressed by the little car. Gas milage is a bit off but its only got 1300kms on it now, so that should improve. But, I gotta say i'm really happy with the car!

Got the Auto, she's stayin stock for a while untill she's nice and broken in. Auto for the wife and ease of driving, as i only drive it to work when its not bike weather. I've got a 2003 R6 (stock 123 crank hp, 369 pounds dry weight) so i didn't exactly need the "advantage" of the manual, it'd never be able to compare :P So probably just some suspension/handling related upgrades, exhaust and intake if i'm feeling crazy.

I also can't get over how CHEAP car mods are...

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the club! I'm jealous of the R6, but I'm also very happy with my Protege. Just one comment....mods for this car CHEAP? Not exactly At least you've got the right idea with the suspension work. It makes it so much fun to drive.

Heh, cheap compared to the bike. A full exhaust for my bike is roughly 1200 usd, slip-ons (axel back equivilent) are 400 so its not that bad, but if you compare how much stuff goes into the bike vs material for the car exhaust Rear shock alone is 800, good forks are in the 2-3000 dollar range USD (for JUST TWO TUBES!!) heh. stupid toys.

Course, i WAS looking at a nice turbo kit for the car and an upgraded auto tranny to hold that kind of power... and etc. You know, to make people go WTF, its AUTO and it just ran a what? :P But i'd only do that if i didn't have a bike to mod

Now i just gotta keep lookin into these trailering threads, from what i can see it should have no problems draggin my 360lb bike and a small trailer around, but i could always pick up a cheap truck/van to tow the bike...

Love the car though, two weeks and i still look forward to drivin it every day! I just gotta remeber it can't corner like my bike and i'll be fine!
