yeah but it's not worth it , Being careful means less power which is stupid because the whole point on spending all that money is getting the benifits of the full potential of turbocharging. But if you want to turbocharge you car and get the full benefit then I would suggest swapping your auto tranny for a manual but then again that's a lot of $$$.

Its not worth it according to who?? I think its definately worth it. I don't see that much of a difference between having an auto or a manual. I think the positives outway the negatives without a doubt.

An auto tranny is weak and not meant to handle that kind of power. With a manual all you have to do is upgrade the clutch and flywheel and your set.

So umm, then you are saying if your an automatic, just give up and have a slow car...hmm, Linuxracer knows a guy with a P5 auto who is putting down 350whp......but steve there is a huge difference between auto and manual.its called a torque converter and no matter what you do they rob power.....it is easier to prep a manual tranny for the extra power, and cheaper...but it is still do-able in an auto

I know there are differences. Thats why I said I don't see MUCH of a difference between an auto and manual tranny. I know that the torque converter is going to rob power, but it can still be upgraded to keep the robbing of HP down to a minimum. Just because someone has to do a little more work to prep their auto tranny doesn't mean they should be stuck with a slow Pro. I fully intend to change some people's thinking and show them that an auto Pro can be just as good as a manual. if not better with the proper tuning.

I'am not saying give up and have a slow car, what I'am saying it's just not cost effective to run a turbo on an auto P5. About that P5 that is putting down 350hp..... I'am not being a dick or anything I just don't believe that. The most hp I heard about on an auto P5 was 260hp. I'll need to see some dyno sheets or pic of the car to believe that this guy with an auto P5 is making that much power. That guy must be rich because the drag pro is making 400hp so.......

You forget that to get the auto tranny to be strong your going to have to drop a lot of $$$$ I just don't see the point, that is why pirana had to sell his car he was boosting it on the hi-boost kit and his tranny was slipping horribly.

350....

There is a member that was putting down 240 on an auto, but i believe he was starting to have problems.... No one who boosted an auto has taken any precautions besides a tranny cooler to protect their auto trannys. that i know of... THE MAN has posted a few times what mods should bedone before boosting, but noone i know of has done it..

this is a member pirana, he had a 240whp auto p5.. i think he was running 10psi or more at the time. Hiboost also uses a larger turbo then other kits. i think linux runs 8psi on his fm kit.

i read the thread before.. i didnt read 360 whp anywhere.. might wanna go back and read again.

It should be noted that "markmurray77" has an automatic.

So if anyone does decide to boost their auto Pro, what turbo kit is best? Specifically for the 1.6 liter Pro? The only kit I know of is the Wagner Motorsports kit. How much is the intercooled kit?

no turbo kit is best on a stock automagic tranny...You best bet would be to swap tranny's!

Than do the Turbo Kit!
