Talking I just purchased megan springs...

are these ok for my MP5? whatta say? i also have a mugen exhaust, i know i know its normally for hondas but i mean it sounds dope, looks bonestock, but sounds deep and nice. although, will i lose power if i switch to (im going all megan racing) a megan racing NA series? would i also be able to purchase the turbo series but get custom piping? reply back please, i know you guys would help. thanks for ur support my fellow bretherens.

How did you get a Mugen Exhaust on your car? Or is it one of those fake Mugen mufflers I see on e-bay all the time?

As for Megan, other than I've heard their exhaust is really loud, no one has complained about the quality of their products much.

right on...

haha yeah, my so called "buddy" ripped me off, i mean the price was fine, $50, but its a replica Mugen, when i saw it i was hesitant, although i needed an exhaust so i was like whatever...

so megan is good? cool, and as for the header, are the DC sport ones the only street legal?

I don't think DC makes headers for the FS

There are currently no "Street Legal" headers available for the Protege, unless you can find a used Wagner "shorty" header which is unlikely.
All others will eliminate your pre-cat. That is not unusual.

Has anyone ever seen or actually used an OBX header for a MP5?

Well, no, you'll still have the second cat, under the car.
The one we are talking about is the 'pre-cat' for startup emissions.
Removing any OEM catalytic convertor is technically illegal, whether your state has emissions laws or not.

yeah, watch out for those federalies with portable sniffers and extendable mirrors. they carry FSM's too so they know exactly where and how many cats every car should have !

Yeah my mp5 came from california. So god only knows what kind of emissions this thing has due to all the regulations california is kind enough to have. Should I remove and cats if I'm doing a Mazdaspeed axle back?

No man, the axleback just replaces your existing muffler ... no cats involved.

Oh yeah, I knew that part. I'm just asking if I should remove any cats if I get that exhaust.

Just keep it the way it is ... the advantage to removing it would be minimal. Unless you have big plans performance wise and you really really need to maximize air flow then don't bother. Replace the muffler for better sound and keep the rest stock ... end of story.
