Here's the scenario:

Occasionally, when I start my engine (always on a cold start) I don't get the usual "turning over" sound that engines make. It sounds more like how the engine does just before it stalls... The thing is that when I realize what's going on and release the ignition, the car runs like normal. Has anyone else come across something like this?

 

its really cold up here , and i havent even noticed any stalling noises. All is fine here.
