HELP How can I get rid of my P5?

I am currently the owner of an Electric Blue P5 2003. Its in excellent condition with bumper to bumper warranty and only 49,000 miles on it. I really need to get it off my hands because I can't really afford the payments right now, so Im looking to sell it or transfer the car to someone else who's interested. Is there any advice? If your interested in the car email me @ emansimon@yahoo.com.

I don't think this is the right place to seek advice ... we LOVE our P5s

I guess if you really can't afford it, put it in all the swap sheets you can ... local credit unions often offer the service for free. Try Auto Trader, maybe even eBay. Write all over the windows with window chalk and drive it all over the place. If you work in a high traffic area park it near a stop light somewhere where people can see it and get your phone number down. The car will sell without a problem as there are not very many of them on the road and they're good looking, fun to drive, very reliable, kickass cars

Good luck, just don't get a Honda ...

I understand completely, I got a quote for $3000 every 6 months cuz I'm only 19! So my dad agreed to have my car on his policy and I would have an old 95 Ford Aerostar on my policy so I only pay $350 instead. With Allied insurance you can also link two policies together so that drivers on one policy are authorized to use cars on another, and all discounts given on one policy apply to the other as well. So really, I have a multi-car discount, homeowners discount, multi-policy discount, and a couple others. Works out pretty good for us young ones .. even though we may be responsible and all ... insurance companies don't care, so you gotta find loopholes somewhere. Thing is you can't really do anything about it without your parents, and if they're not willing to help and trust you then you're screwed ...

Anyway, good luck with the sell and if you manage to work something out with the insurance then welcome to the club. Also might wanna check out MSProtege ... it's another Protege forum where the members aren't near as friendly as they are here , but there's a lot more traffic and a lot more items being sold, including cars ... so you might find someone interested a little easier if you post your car there. Make sure you read the rules in the For Sale sections (they're stickied at the top of the section) or your thread will be closed. Good luck ...

I have the same insurance problem but backwards---my daughter is 18 and her car is my wife's old 1997 Accord. But since we have a car for every driver, she has to be the "principal
driver" for one of them, and even the Accord is astronomical. So we show her as the principal for our even older 1992 Corolla (which hasn't moved in 4 months!).

Jebus...450$ a month? Is that even legal?? I live in Soviet Cannuckistan ( canada) and I so far pay 824$ for the whole year, im 26 so that might have something to do with it and drive a 2001, 1.6L protege. was insured with my folks before with the same company on their 'Found On Road Dead' Countour. What do you have in that car that they make you pay that much??? I told my insurance that I don't drive more than 16k a year, not to work.

That's just how it is now I guess .. I was looking at $500 a month when I first got the P5 and I was 17 with 1 speeding ticket on record. $3000 for 6 months with Progressive is the cheapest I found by myself, so I find his numbers very believable...

$450 ?
what you do? get a ticket for going 120 on a 35 road?

fox had a good idea though, if you put it in any sort of urban area it'll sell real quick, espically with under 50K miles.

if you wana spend a little bit of money, auto-trader are good ideas to sell in.

Wow. That's not bad at all. We pay 636 for 6 months full coverage on an 04 stratus and liability only for my pro. But i'm thinking about getting more coverage for mine cuz of uninsured motorists and such...

not as bad as 95+ in a 60..(I say + because 95 is the fastest his truck would go.. and I was starting to pull away from him.)

there was litertaly no one on the highway for as far as you could see(this was about a 12mil streach of completly straight road).. so he left me off with a "disregarding a highway sign."

which is basicaly a slap on the wrist compared to what he could have given me: reckless driving.

Ever heard of a radar detector? I've had one for nearly three years and have been ticket-free during that span. . .
