There was no 1.8 on the ES in 2001...2.0L.

BTW, it's the same number for the 1.6L and the 2.0L, and I imagine the 1.8L.

well, your first mistake was listening to a guy from part source.

just kidding. sort of.

anyway, i checked a couple FAQs before i bought the filter. that's the number. it fits. K&N hasn't updated their app guide to show the 2.0L but the air box has been the same for a while.

the 33-2143 that I got...

from NAPA was definatly too small-by 2" exactly for my 2002 p5. Still waiting for the "special order" from NAPA but i am not optimistic.
Could the air boxes differ in size?
I am a little afraid to order it on-line if it doesn't fit-I hate to have to send it back.
Has anyone walked into a parts store w/factory air filter in hand and asked for the parts guys just to match the size with another k & n?

Exclamation domZ - your part number is wrong!

I think the right part number is 33-2134, not 33-2143 as you said in your previous post!

Perhaps the NAPA guy looked up the right number, but picked up and gave you the wrong one?

I say, try again - it makes no sense that it wouldn't fit, because the airbox is the same size!

Ordered it...

from www.nopi.com
Thanks for sending me in that direction.

Now, as Tom Petty sings..."The wa-a-a-it is the hardest part..."

maybe I am dating myself by referencing T. Petty

yikes!
