Has anyone replaced there P5 front windshield?

AAAAAUUUGGGGG!
Found crack on front windshield this morning

I heard something last night, but didn't realize the extent of the damage.

Has anyone had their P5 windshield replaced? will I be the first?

I guess it's better than finding a big ding on the hood?

It's so unfair, she only has 700miles on the OD.
I need a drink,
manny

YES, I have. make sure you get a good quality replacement....some of the windshields out there are pretty crappy...... insist on one made by PPG and you can't go wrong. It will actually exceed the mfg spec's.

Mine's cracked too. Not impressed with the quality of the original. A small stone was kicked up by the car in front of me, I was supprised to see it cracked. As long as it doesn't get any bigger I'm leaving it alone, but how much $$ did it cost for replacment.

if it's just "not very big" crack, why don't you just get that windshield repaired. I got mine with one year warranty.

they filled the crack with resin and hardened it with UV-light (30-40min). Now the crack is almoast disappeared and total cost was 50Euros (=50USD)

I guess mine isn't the first.
I spoke w/my Mazda dealer to get a referral...expect a call sometime today.

I have heard a few horror stories on windshield replacements...I guess you get what you pay for.

Unfortunately the damage is more than a chip, a 12" crack is now starting to develop.

With my $100 deductible on a new insurance policy, the estimate will determine whether I file a claim or not.

I hope this isn't a sign?

Thanks for the replays...I will keep you posted,
manny

There's a chain of glass shops in my area who will pay up to $100 of your detucible just to get your business. You should call around to some shops and see if anybody offers this. Just had my wife's done and we have $100 deductible. Total cost out of pocket $0.

ha ha! in Fla the state covers it(due to the amt of rock trucks we have on the road) $0 deductible...any company that my insurance company does business with, any insurance company that you use it works that way here!...as long as the crack is longer than a dollar bill(about 8")
