I just recently had to deal with the dealership's warranty b.s. My car started acting up and idling rough so on Wednesday I called Orin B. Hayes Mazda here in Kalamazoo and they told me that the closest time I could bring in my P5 would be the 14th. I have work and take finals this week so that wasn't an option. They said they would only provide me a loaner on the 14th (1 week away)if they found that my car was still under warranty and this particular repair would be covered. My car is an '03 with 13,400 mi. on it.....it had better be covered under warranty! I called Mazda N.A. and told them my situation and they had the service manager call me back and tell me to bring it in that day (Thursday). I can't believe they expected me to go a week without some type of wheels. It ended up being a faulty EGR valve and the service manager fixed it that day but didn't call me back until 6:00pm when they closed. I was hoping to pick it up that night because I work in the mornings on campus but no.....I had to walk 1/2 hour in the rain at 7:00am to work. Hurray for Mazda service. I only hope that next time my car decides to break down on me I'm back home so I can take the car where I bought it. The dealership there was much nicer and bent over backwards to help out. Just a little venting. According to my searches though of a lot of people have been venting.
