******* dealership damages hood on my 3 week old P5

I had brought it in today to get the blower transistor switch replaced (fan wasnt working) and I get the car home this evening and expect the car inside my garage with all the garage's lights on and I notice 3 dents on the ******* hood. It is VERY CLEAR to me what happened - the jackass mechanic left a wrench or screwdriver on top of my driver's side strut mout and closed the hood causing these 3 dents. I cant believe this. The car has only been mine for less then 3 weeks.

I called Mazda North America to tell them but they were closed so I am going to call the dealership tomorrow morning and tell them that I want a new hood.

Anyone else have this kind of this happen to them? I was afraid to leave my car with them and now I know why!!!

I know how you feel. do call mazda since its important

Hey another Mustang/Mazda owner.

Yes, I have a 1990 Lx with 66k original miles which is currently putting out about 275 HP.

I have the usual on it - Cobra intake, 130 amp alternator, welded subframes, 76mm Mass Air meter with C&L tube, Lincoln front calipers, Flowmasters, and a bunch of other crap.

The mustang is my "good" car, I only drive it on nice days and never in the weather, It sees about 1250 miles a year on it.

I bought the P5 to be my sporty yet far from fast daily driver. It is a comfortable ride which tells people that I can have my cake and eat it to.

I can be seen regularly on the Mustang forum Corral.net. They have over 30,000 registered members!!! I think it is the largest internet Forum out there.

BTW - I contacted my Mazda dealership this morning and got the reponse that I was hoping for = the service manager is going to call me Monday morning to address this. I am also putting a call into Mazda North America Monday too to cover my *** in case my local Mazda dealership gives me the old GFY salute and try to claim they didnt do it.

oh i know that place. used to hang around there all the time even though mine is a 4 cylinder. i drove the mustang for 5 years. the protege is my nice car. the mustang is my beater, sorry to say. but it has seen more accidents than there are starts in the sky though, actually none by me. now i still have it but the water pump blew about 2 months ago, the last time i started it up. didn't have time to fix it myself. i am seeing less and less fox body stangs out there so once I graduate i would like to restore it. btw and this applies to everybody, a lot of the times they tell you that you will get survey in the mail and if you bring it in you get $50. if you that then thats the stuff mazda never gets to find out about. $50 IS a lot of money but please fill out the surveys yourself guys, truthfully of course, if the service was shitty- put it in, if it was good-make that point, and mail it in yourself to mazda. don't take the surveys to the dealership.

Hey, I have a feeling they'll try to repair the hood instead of replace it...

But if they do... try to see if you can go aftermarket for a hood with a hoodscoop or something, if they replace it, it wouldn't cost too much to throw in some cash for an aftermarket one, might even balance out or be less!

Good luck with the dealer though!

I too am about to have a nervous breakdown. I am terrified at what the Service Manager is going to tell me tomorrow morning. If he says "go screw yourself" then I am going to bring it to the attention of Mazda North America to get a resolution OR file a claim with my insurance company and have them subrogate for the damages through the dealership's insurance company.

But I also figure that this dealership must carry insurance so they could just file a claim through their own carrier.

I will let everyone know how this turns out. Thanks all

Well, got the car back, and aside from a couple minor scratches in the clear coat which I think were a result of the dents my hood looks perfectly smooth again. I cant believe how well a paintless dent removal procedure can look. I think I will be calling the dealership back to get the business card of that guy who did the work on it for me.

regarding the scratches, I can use some Zaino wax to get rid of them once it gets warmer.....
