Question Forged Internals

Hey everybody, I was wondering if anybody knows where I could purchase a set and about how much you think an install would be? Because Matty recently brought up a point that if I want everything done right and have it all be reliable in the long run, this would be the best thing to get first, which is a good point becasue I dont want to blow my engine nor can I really afford to get a new car or whole new engine if something goes wrong in the process of modding this car. So any info on prices, places, and experiences are appreciated.

Thanks!
Scott.

I have personally dealt with Wagner Motorsports and I know Andy would be more than able to build you a complete forged shortblock for about $2300+core. What you'd do is send him the total upfront. He builds everything thing in his shop and sends you the engine. You swap it into your car and send him your block back and he refunds the core charge. That's what I'm doing with mine.

He knows what he's doing and he uses good stuff. No junk there.

Ok, so for 2300, I'd be getting pistons, rods, and cylinder...? more? less?

Either way that seems like it would be a good way to go. That also seems good since you would only be without an engine for as long as it takes you to swap the two and do whatever... Any additional info is appreciated.

the wagner built shotblocks are complete shortblocks. You'll need to switch over your water pump and accessories and what-not but it's a complete, built engine. just swap your head, intake, exhaust, accessories on and you're done. Not the easiest of jobs but not out of your grasp if you know your way around a wrench...

p.s. I just realized scotty that I sent you a pm that wasn't meant for you!! oops!

Alright, thanks for the info and quick responces! 2300 seems pretty good for what your getting!

...I know a fair amount about mechanics, me and my friend rebuilt my dirtbike top-end, granted its a two-stroke engine, less parts and such, but I really wanna start moving to larger things like cars, but I'm a little hesitant to screw anything up, a car is a little more expensive and important! I wanna find someway to get comftorable with the whole thing and know this car inside and out...any suggestions?

if you lived closer you could come down and help me build supercharger kits! I'm going to hold "install parties" for buyers who want help installing their kits....might be a good time to come down for a weekend and learn all about cars.

I wish I lived close and could help you, that'd be awesome!

...At about 1000 miles, 15 hours, around $3000(WOMP kit)+gas money.....that would be quite a was to get down there, but I'd be willing to do it! I think it'd be a fun time! But if I want the forged block and if I'd be doing other things, I could probably have the money to buy the kit, but dont know about getting down there and stuff, but we'll see how it all works out. I know I'll sure as hell sitck around the forums so we'll see how things play out....

*Imagines how kool it would be to help build supercharger kits and gets happy, than depressed and realizes he cant.....yet *
