Rpm

Hi,
Can anyone advise me as to how I can adjust the RPM on cold start on my 2001 Mazda Familia, similar to 323 and Protege, but with 1.5l engine.
On cold start the engine revs way too high, I suspect it may be close to 2500RPM, I'm afraid it may damage valve train/pistons etc (not enough oil for that RPM).

Thanks

Hey cool! Two guys who has the same engine as mine, the 1.5L from abroad who's on this forum! Just like to say that I have a 1.5L FAMLIA myself and boy it's really fun to drive. I drive really hard so I probably get like 25-30MPG, I guess? Or less...

Hey Amrit,
I'm from TNT also, did the K&N filter and Nippon Denso plugs make a difference in the performance? I will be installing the same filter in my Familia RoRo/2001/PBW soon.
All in all it's a really nice car

Macdaddy,
I located an idle screw which controls the normal idle speed, it is connected to the accelerator cable on the TB, but I doubt this has much to do with the Hi revs on start up.
is this the screw you referred to?.
I don't want to mess around with adjustments as I am not familiar with fuel injection systems and the "new" technology of modern late model cars.
Give me 32/36 Weber an MSD, half race cam and some nice headers and I'm good...
