Besides the tires spinning...what else does it feel like compared to stock?! Give us details! Congrats on the car, keep up the good work, and keep us informed.

So with a polished head, cams and a CAI you spun the tires in first gear? Don't you mean tire? I can do that and I don't have a fancy head or cams.

Try it with an LSD.

I believe he also got the valve train done...I don't know what though. What would be the affects of beefing up the valve train?

"Beefing it up" would consist of stronger components. It'd be more setup for a turbo or supercharger. Since he mentioned he's getting high compression pistons, I hope he's notgoing turbo or that engine will be back in the shop in no time.

Actually, if you can manage it, high compression pistons with a turbo setup is the best. This is why turbo kits on Hondas work so well.. specially the GS-R. 10:1 compression with a massive T4/T3 57trim turbo produces 271whp on my friend's GS-R.

The higher compression helps spoolup and obviously horsepower. If Justin is gonna go with a standalone engine management system, a turbo setup would be a nice setup.

Ok, how many pounds of boost? If you were to go 10.5:1 with the Mazdaspeeds, and slap on a turbo running a modest 8 lbs, you'd still be phucked.

He's running at 6psi and getting that whp. Of course we're talking apples and oranges.. for Honda motors are just insanely good. But the point is, if you have good engine management, you can turbo with high compression pistons. There's this guy with an Avenger or Eclipse (naturally aspirated) and has 10.5:1 compression pistons.. got sick of NA and went turbo with the same pistons. He's still doing fine because he has it properly tuned.

The higher compression will help by making much more power with less boost, this is one reason why it helps spool up...The compressor and turbine don't have to work as hard to make more power...

I don't know what he had done, but valve work can help with N/A engines just as much...In fact for a Turbo charged FS, nothing really needs to be done to the head, the bottom end is what needs the reinforcements for high boost...

Anyway I vaguely remember stiffer valve springs or something, which help prevent valve float at extreme revs, sounds to me like he is in the process of building a hell of a N/A FS...
