fat tires?

What are the fattest tires I can fit on a 2003 mp5? I want more traction and betther cornering. Will this even help? Has anyone cut fenders to fit fatter tires on, fender flares? Or would this just look ugly?

Cutting fenders = dumb ricer look IMO. If you are talking about the stock wheels 205 is the widest.
If you are thinking about getting (or already have) different wheels it's going to depend on the offset of the wheel and the the width. So, when you have something more specific, ask again.

i agree with kargoboy,i had 205/40 on my stock 16's and it started making a rubbing noise from the rim protectors on the tires(neo-gens). at first it wasnt so bad but it got really anoying after a while so i bought some ultra-high perf. tires in the stock size and i think it handles just as good as the others.

Spacers = not safe IMO.
I would not recommend this.

215's fit under the stock fender with no problems.

Here's a pic of my lowered P5 on 215/40-18's.
