fat tires?

What are the fattest tires I can fit on a 2003 mp5? I want more traction and betther cornering. Will this even help? Has anyone cut fenders to fit fatter tires on, fender flares? Or would this just look ugly?

Cutting fenders = dumb ricer look IMO. If you are talking about the stock wheels 205 is the widest.
If you are thinking about getting (or already have) different wheels it's going to depend on the offset of the wheel and the the width. So, when you have something more specific, ask again.

i agree with kargoboy,i had 205/40 on my stock 16's and it started making a rubbing noise from the rim protectors on the tires(neo-gens). at first it wasnt so bad but it got really anoying after a while so i bought some ultra-high perf. tires in the stock size and i think it handles just as good as the others.

I have the widest tires that fit the stock rims - no rubbing. (see my sig)

It does help cornring. Do it.

I jsut recently bought 18' ICW Stillettos and i have 225/45-18 Nitto Neo Gens and they rub but only in the back but i fixed that i put 4 rubber spacers in each of the rear springs and the car still rides the same and they don't rub As lond as i kinda take it slow over huge bumps...but other than that thats what i did..

Spacers = not safe IMO.
I would not recommend this.

215's fit under the stock fender with no problems.

Here's a pic of my lowered P5 on 215/40-18's.
