Question Factory alarm

I have done a search but it seems no one has asked about this before. My PR5 has the factory alarm. Is there a way to lock the doors using the remote without arming the alarm?

I could be wrong....but I do believe you can lock the car without arming the alarm...by...locking the door from the inside before you close the door....let me put it to you this way...since it is cold out...I warm my car up in the morning before leaving for work...I disarm my car...open the door...start it...and hit the power lock button on the door to lock the car...and then close the door(I do have my spare key to get back in) so, the car is locked and running, but not armed

hope this helps

Having your car running would not allow the alarm to be armed. Why would the alarm need to be on, when most of the time your car is running, you are in it?? I

Unhappy

What am I looking for when I go searching for the factory alarm unit? I would like to adjust the sensitivity and add an led indicator to it.

it sounds like you don't have the factory alarm. i don't know how sensitive your car is to jarring, but i have to practically beat on my car to get the alarm to go off, and i have an led flasher on the bottom of my instrument cluster that tells me when it is armed.

Angry

I guess I'll have to yell at Mazda then... it shows that I paid for the perimeter alarm sys on my window sticker.
