Exhaust Recommendation

Hi all,

I am looking for opinions on Cat-back systems for my p5. I do not know if this is possible, but I want a system that will give increased performance, and not sound much louder than the stock system? I do not want everyone to know it when I am coming down the street. Is that possible? If so, does anyone know of an exhaust that has these characteristics?

Thx.

Do a search. There's been tons of posts about this previously. The Bosal cat-back exhaust is available with an optional bolt-in silencer insert. Search, and you should find a couple threads mentioning this.

why 2" over 2¼"? Would he loose power with going a little bigger and wouldn't 2¼" be better with future mods?

piping isn't that expensive either so it would be benificial to just go smaller and upgrade to bigger later. Thanks for the information.

I read somewhere that TRD is making a NA setup for the celica and matrix that will put the horspower somewhere in the 260 range. That is awesome. I don't know if we have that in us, however the speedvision cars were making about 200hp and I'm sure the Roger Foo car will. I talk with one of his sponsers all the time and he leaks little bits of information all the time. I knew he was racing a Pro5 since Nov. when I ordered my intake. www.rogerfoo.com ; He is selling his civic if anyone has $25K laying around. There will be information on his Protege5 there eventually.

And the FS in full streetable NA trim should top out about 180,200 WHP.

180,200 WHP? Thats all? I bet your protege is amazingly fast Jesse!!! If I can get that easily you must have almost 200,000WHP!!!! I can't find anywhere localy that will do mandrel bending...everyone does hydraulic or crush. Should I just go with that or what? I don't really like the muffler on the bosal, so that is out of the question for now. I also don't want to spend $650 for the JIC exhausts when they come available. What do you think I should do??
