I've had mine 15 months, put on over 30,000 flawless miles. Reliability is better than excellent - it is exemplary. Love my P5.

I have somewhere around 3800 miles on mine (in 8 weeks). No problems whatsoever. Plus I'll note the build quality is top notch.
I've noticed you were looking at Imprezas as well; I owned a 95 that I bought new. It was also a great car. We had a few problems out of it by the time we sold it at 138K, but nothing major and it still ran great and still felt solid.
I think Mazdas can hold their own in long-term reliability though. My MX-6 LS (2.5 V-6) ran just as good when I sold it with 145K as it did when I bought it at 55K. I had a single mechanical problem during the ownership of that car, although I did replace a few items such as leaky gaskets, etc.
