I dont know about everyone else but I dont care what everyone thinks I like the CF hoods if it looks good and has nice clean clear coat but if you paint over it that fine as long as the bottom side has a nice look also....Sweedenhouse when is the last time you seen jimmys car...you know he has a CF hood with the hood painted so that the CF looks like a big honda H....I dont like the way he did that

oh well, to each his own.
You take a dump and your car is faster, any time you take weight off your car is faster. It would be better to say the car isn't much faster.

And what is an NPT?

NPT = non performance tun[ing/ers]??

cf hoods satisfies 2 crowds. The strip everything away and replace heavy stuff w/light stuff crowd, and the doing up the car for looks crowd.

cf hoods like kinda cool, depends on the colour of the car.
looks good w/the blue and his rims IMO.

If you wanna increase your quarter mile times, then I suggest going on a diet =) But your mileage may vary. It would heavily (no pun intended... who am I kidding?? fully intended) depend on the how overweight the driver is. =)
take a dump, ****, shave your head and beard and all body hair, strip down to your boxers, remove the mirrors (who needs to look back when u're doing a 1/4 mile!!! =P).
after all that.. u might be able to shave some 1/10ths here and there!!! =)

(disclaimer: sarcasm gauge is redlining)

Yeah I've seen Jimmy's accord wagon, and I was like WTF did you do? At first I asked him if he primered his hood or sumthin when we're at Los Dos, and he just kinda looked at me real stupid and told me to **** off. As for what he did with the hood, well a friend of his hit the remote start on his car on accident and it was in gear. The car ran into the back of a truck's trailer hitch and fucked the hood up. So he sanded down the CF, and tried to paint it up the best he could. (he works with body, and paint and stuff like that now, so he knows what he's doing).

And Reking, no I'm just slow, you gots mail.

so buying CF products and saying your trying to save weight (while your extremely heavy system is thumping in the background) is an oxymoron...
No kidding. And the cheep body kits and wheels people add sometimes usually end up adding almost as much as their sub boxes

I agree with everyone. Everyone has good points for both sides but my main thing is that if everyone left their cars stock and didnt do different things to them then all of our cars wouild look the same. I personally like it when I see something different. I may not buy the hood or wing for myself but like I said before it does look good with his color paint.

It looks awesome and all, but the fact is, its a CF hood, thus easily to break off of latch and steal any/all engine mods you have.......Regular CF hoods which latch the same way retail around $399 here, and the weight difference doesnt actually make a true "difference" in performance. CF hoods kicked off really good for a while, and after everybody realized how easy it was to pop the latch on one they went back to OEM Just something to think about, it does look awesome on your car
You don't need to warn me about cheap carbon fiber hoods, I used to work at a performance shop that imported the crap cheepo hoods from taiwan and china...guess what? the cost on them was about $100 a piece and we sold them for $300....trust me, this DG motorsports hood is nothing like that it has a strong as stock welded and rivited latch and a full fiberglass under-skeleton, just like stock, it's not gutted out like the fiber images hoods...that's why it costs as much as it did...I'll get some pics of the underside for you tomorrow.

And to everyone who doesn't like the way it looks, I can definitly respect your opinion, there are plenty of things people do to their cars that I think looks tacky. You really need to see a GOOD carbon fiber hood in person before you can make a judgement though, they look totally different under the sunlight, it looks very three demensional and shimmery...nothing like what a still image can capture. And no, I did not buy it for the weight saving...I know the 30 pounds of weight difference isn't anything I can feel, I bought it because I think it looks good. And who says you can't have a nice looking car and a fast one at the same time...I do plan on getting the Mazdaspeed Turbo kit as soon as it's avalible. Carbon fiber hoods and black rims are more of a JDM thing, it's huge in japan and very big in southern california. Just like some people like to paint their cars funky bright colors and throw chrome rims on them, and though I would never do something like that to my own car, I can repect the work and effort put into any car...just as long as it looks like it took some time and thought and it's not a shitty hack job. The bottom line it that we're all car enthusiests, whether someone has a carbon fiber hood, a huge wing, or drives a mustang we should all respect each other's opinions and styles, whether we'd do the same thing to our own cars or not is besides the point.

Anyways, sorry about the rant...it's late and I've been up way too long.

RODSCALIP5: I thought about the CF sideskirts but I thought that they were a little overboard...no disrespect or anything (see above rant) If you like them, more power to you...if all of our cars looked the same, life would be boring.

Shawn

That is one of the first rants I have read that was actually well thought out and put together. I completely agree with you.
