Deal on Protege 5?

I recieved a quote the other day at Royal Mazda in Metairie, LA (10 min from New Orleans). It was for a Yellow Protege 5, 5 speed, with the only option being a Moonroof. The quote was $16,999. I wanted to know if this is a good deal? I know that in different parts of the country, the Protege 5 is in greater demand, but is this a good price for LA? Any comments will greatly be appreciated. BTW, if i do order this, the dealer says that they would have to order it from the Japan, and it would take 6-8 weeks to recieve it. Is this about right time wise? Does it really take this long? Tnks...

----sorry about my name thing

$16,999?! You are paying a little less than MSRP,

If you just want a MP5 with moon roof, invoice is

$15274 - MP5
$560.00 - moon roof

MSRP is
$16,335 - MP5
$700.00 - moon roof

Unless that price is after tax / docs, you are getting ripped off good.

Base invoice + moonroof invoice = 15834 * 5% fair dealer profit = $16,625.70 plus tax and tags. Keep in mind yellow is in limited run and demand is high...so $16,625 is your best case.

You showed an advertised price about $300 over that...so that's really not that bad for a Vivid Yellow as long as that includes all fees besides delivery and DMV. I'd count on your out the door price being around $18,232 if your tax is 6% and DMV is $100.

6-8 weeks? Count on more.

Out the door price is the check you'd need to cut to buy the car and drive off the lot. It's the car plus all taxes, fees, etc. It does not include interest.

psssssssstttttttt!!!!!!!!!!

word going around is theres no MP5..please dont call it that..other's are highly offended

There is no freedom of speech and no such thing as a P5/MP5
as I have been told...

The Yellow Mazda Protege 5 is sweet though..we only have 3 in the Province i believe..

Even though it can be confused with the special edition MP3, I think an MP5 is still a relavant term because it means Mazda Protege 5 but I see your point about there being no Mazda MP5 model.

They shoulda made one. Maybe next year they will?
