cool, i would like to get a frontmount intercooler that fits in the car without cutting the bumper. and what is it to flash your car? i am a newbie at most this stuff and i need more info. but thatnks for the info you already posted.

the flash is for the hesitation the MSP has and when it feels like its loosing boost ! Thats what the flash is for ! So I have read so far , you should do the same read , read , read ! Since when does a manufacturer run Engine coolant through the turbo along with engine oil? I have never heard of this, do you have any documentation or proof of that statement?
Most turbos are internally lubricated by the engine oil, and if you have read your MazdaSpeed manual and visor ALERT that was plastered on the driver's side visor it is HIGHLY recommended that you leave the car running at idle for at least 30 seconds before shutting down or turning off the ignition.
If the turbo was curculating anti-freeze/engine coolant through it then why would Mazda request that you idle the vehicle after extended use or hard use?

are you serious??? almost all modern turbochargers are water cooled....when you shut the engine down however after a hard run coolant doesnt continue to circulate, and neither does oil, so if you dont give the turbo a chance to cool down, the oil will sit in it and cook
UP DATE : I just dropped my car off @ the dealer today cuz my bushing came in friday But I had to call them Monday to find out that they had them so then they sit me up today to come in. I also told them to flash the ECU and check on that DOG DAMN COOLANT LEAK AGAIN ! ! !

I got the inforrmtion from garrett own website. Also, the "cool off" period is standard turbocharged car insurance. It will help the car to let it run at idle, but the turbos are so efficient at removing heat that excessive (more than 20 seconds) time isn't neccessary.
the majority of coolant leaks and smells you people get is from the turbo. Mine had coolant leaking around it. I don't have the documentation in front of my. I'm at work now, but give a shout to the guys at Garret and ask them all about the turbo on the MSP. there's a reason mazda went with this one over a cheaper , more poweful model.

Thanks for the info RoddimusPrime , I read most of that site and didn't see that part ( not saying its not ther ) but I did find out about the GT and was trying to figure out why the hell Mazda did that to us ! Giving use the T instead of the GT.

is it not the GT25? I found this turbo under Garretts "factory turbo" page. It lists it for our size motor making the power ours does, has the same ballbearing cartridge....has the same cooling channels I mentioned....whats the difference?
huh, I was told it was the GT25.....what do you mean "the spool" is bigger? That doesn't make any sense. It uses the same housings, the same ball bearing drive, the same compressor wheels, and the same cooling system. I don't know what the difference is, but I will try to contact Garrett in the next day or so to find out.

I agree with Charles. It's just "old school" turbo thinkng. The same dealer that told me to cool my car off prior to shutdown also told me a turbo timer would void my warranty unless i paid them $200 to install it!
