ok, i think my brakes are squeaking (i think).. and there is a squeaking *** annoying noise from my engine bay! im thinking it's the alternator because it increases in intensity when the lights are on, and is loud when the car is in a moving gear (R, D, 2, 1) but not in N or P. It's killing me! what could it be?!

 

if you hear a squeek when you press the brake pedal, your brakes are probably squeeking...

If the belts are squeeking try some belt dressing, or if you are under warranty, take it to the dealership...

 

is there anything i can do to stop the squeaking?! it is the most annoying thing, sounds like my car is 10 yrs old or something!

 

Perhaps it has to do with your LED squirters? Maybe they are telling you to take them off the car??? Just kidding.


In all honesty, just take it to the dealership, it could be one of a few things (a pulley or belt), or you can pop the hood, and trouble shoot it while the car is running. Does it squeek during idle, or just acceleration?

there is anti-chatter **** for the brake pads but they still should not be squeeking bad if they are not out of life, so take it to your dealership...

No, it only squeeks during idle, but i cant hear it when i accelerate.

i will take it to the dealer.. thanks guys.

will they do anything for the brakes, or is it just too insignificant?
