OK, you get an 85 J-body Skyhawk. Let me know when it's ready.

Nah, seriously. Here's what I would do if I were Nigaud5sx... get a late 80's to early 90's Toyota Corolla or Geo Prizm. These cars are cheap as dirt, yet almost unbelievably reliable and durable, and they aren't fast and have no aftermarket support, so you won't be tempted to blow money trying to make it faster.

One of my former coworkers was a Baptist missionary and owned one of these Corollas (an 89 model I think) and repeatedly drove it all throughout Mexico, in the heat of summer, with over 220k miles on it, using mystery-octane Pemex gas, and that car WOULD NOT DIE. It had a few of piddly accessory failures (one CV joint, original p/s pump went out at ~190k miles, stuff like that) but the car just wouldn't quit, and didn't even use much oil. If you start looking at the classified ads, there's a reason why many of them have 180k+ miles- unless you wreck it, if you keep up the maintenance, these cars seem to basically run forever.

Just my $0.02. OK, maybe like $0.04.

Nigaud5sx - I went to Jenks in highschool I now live in Tulsa. You PMed me once. If you need a job I can get you a job. If you are 18 I can get you a job waiting tables. If not you can bus tables. I put myself through college doing this. Get off your azz and work. I have 3 jobs right now.........You Need to Get ONE!

BTW Reasors is hiring and so is Subway and they are less then a 5 minute walk from just about anywhere in Jenks. Most places are only hiring part time right now, but get two partime jobs or even 3.

Nigaud5sx - it seems as though even when people are giving you things, you are still not happy.

And I'm sorry - but I will NEVER believe the "there are no jobs" line. That's crap. We are not in the Great Depression. There are plenty of jobs out there. You might not WANT them, but in this life, people have to do what they have to do. If you do not have a job, that is your fault, and no one elses. You do what you MUST when hard times hit, not what you WANT to do - what you HAVE to do.

I've heard the whole bunch of **** before. I don't have a job, so I can't buy a car, and I can't get a job without a car, and blah blah blah. When I look at the various people throughout my life who have given various bullshit reasons for not working, they all share the same trait. They are lazy.

I used to ride my bike to my jobS (that's right, at 16 I had TWO jobs) - total round trip was about 15 miles a day. My buddy used to ride his bike to the train station, carry it on the train, get off the train a few towns over and bike to work. In the rain. And the snow. For **** money - bringing home like $200 a week 10 years ago.

When money was real tight for me, you think car audio and performance was my priority? Hell no - feeding myself and paying my necessary bills came first.

I'm about to buy a house, and my mortgage and tax payment is gonna be almost $2200 a month. Car payments? $500/month for me and the wife. Insurance? Add another $500+ for home & cars. Food? Utilities? It's gonna cost me $40 grand a year just to LIVE. You think I'll be looking to turbo my car? Or add thousands to my soundsystem? I think not - I'll be looking to spend my money where it NEEDS to be spent, and working my *** off for every extra dime I can get.

I, too, have followed the trials and tribulations of your family through your posts. And quite frankly, it seems your priorities are all fucked up.

And now you complain that the church has no money to GIVE your family. Lemme tell you, there are literally THOUSANDS of people who would be more than willing to GIVE you money. You just need to go EARN it first. Work for it, then they give it to you. It's called a paycheck.

There are no free lunches. Get off your ***, stop whining about how bad **** is and go CHANGE it. No one is going to come knocking on your door to GIVE you anything. You need to go GET it.

Jeez.

99SilverBullet...I need all the help I can get.

I've turned in apps and bugged the hell out of subway, reasors, walmart, iga, arbys, dominoes, papajohns, qt, sourthern ag, cenemark, starworld 20, amc 20, nelson nissan mazda, riverside chevrolet, camilles, outback, el chicos, carrabas, cheddars, renessance hotel, dillards and garden ridge, just to name a few. None offered me a job. If I had a chance for a job right now - anywhere - i would take it.

I know it may have seemed like it, but speed and performance are not my top priorities. I would only go and blow money on car stuff if I were positive I didn't need that money. Right now I need every penny I can get...that's why I haven't bought anything car related, besides replacement brake pads, for a while.

I appreciate you all helping me to realize that I need to come to reality, and hopefully we can all be friends.

I guess you are 18. Right?

If so let me ask around to the places I have connections and see if I can dig something up.

Do you have a way to get to work? A ride or the 240 or something?

No, I am not 18yet. I just got back from the impound, getting the 240, so I'll have a ride.

Damn it as much as I hate domestics, at least give a credit to the Buick's powerful big engine all you got to do is put some 24 inch rims and you'll be set.
