Cai

I dont mean to beat this subject into the ground but has anyone herd of a CAI/short ram? Meanins a CAI that can be broken down into a short ram for winter months. Is there such a thing for an 03 Mp5? I only ask because I only have one car and if I suck up to much water and lock up my engine I'm f'ed.

You should be able to have the full CAI in for winter. The intake wont suck up snow. Just don't go sinking the front end into 8-12" puddles of water, and you will be fine.

The Protege body goes a fine job shielding the filter from most harm.

That works too if you want to keep switch back and forth. But really, unless you live in a really wet area, you dont need to worry about it. The filter is made to repel water (K&N one anyways), so unless you plan on submerging the front end in a foot of water, it shouldn't be a problem.
