break-in??

How long is the break in period for the car? I have about 500 miles on the car. What exactly are you supposed to do/not do with the car. The owners manual states that the car doesnt have a break-in period, but several people on this board have mentioned it.

600 miles?

Just wondering, usually the factory puts in a factory oil, as mazda does to help "break" in the motor. why would you drain that oil before the factory 4000km as the manual tells you to. Just wondering. i followed the manual and my valve train is a bit noisy. im taking it back to get the valvetrain adjusted if they can, or they will have to do something else.
