Is it better to break in a new engine in the winter or summer?

It shouldn't matter if it is summer or winter. As long as you warm up the car on the really cold days and keep the rpm's low for 1k kms you should have no problem whatsoever.

I turned my odo to 1011 kms this morning. This weekend I'll get an oil change and start blistering off some 10 second 0-60 times.
