Bosal Exhaust Complete

Hello All AGAIN!.....yep the Bosal exhaust went on at the same time the CAI went in....the complete install only took 45 minutes. the hardest part was getting the stock muffler off of the rubber hangers....I finally shot a little WD-40 on them and they slid right off.....of course that helped put the new muffler on the hangers as well. I am VERY pleased with the fit and the sound...nice and throaty.....not to loud, just right. here is a pic of the back end.

Webmaster.....I ordered it from Mitch at Protege5Online. He got my money on Wednesday...and I had my exhaust at my house the next Wednesday...and that was with a holiday for FedEx to have a day off too. Bosal ships directly from them....so it came to me in Texas from New Jersey. the cost of the exhaust is $380. its all stainless...and ALL polished very nicely. the best part about the Camelion Bosal Exhaust is the tips are bolted on....actually flanged...if you get a wild hair and want to change tips...all you have to do it buy it..and in a matter of about 5 to 10 minutes you can change them. Personally....I like the tip that comes on it.

Craig.....I didn't have to carry the box...so I didn't care how big it was! lol but it was about 7 foot long, 2 foot wide and 1 foot thick.

Am i the only one who had problems gettin those bolts off, You guys make it sound like all it takes is a flick of the wrist. But i digress , the bosal is as good as advertised, nice throaty growl unlike anything youve heard on those lil civics . btw i got mine from mitch 2.

orangealpha...........there is a GOOD reason I had no trouble with the bolts....where they tight? sure they were....however....my ride only has 1750 miles on it...and its never been in the rain....not to much corrosion in the way.....however....the use of copper based anti-seize compound on the bolts is a good idea.

tip

How long is your tip??? I have seen a two inch and a four inch. Which one did your bosal come with? The sedan needs the longer tip.

its the shorter tip.....if you will go to the Bosal web site you can see all the different tips that are available for this system....you just need to locate the ones in their listing that says they are FLANGED....

If you order the Pro5 system, it comes with the shofter tip. If you order the Sedan version, it comes with the longer tip. The price on the system is 370.00 plus freight.

EricF here is the link to their site. BOSAL USA once you get there...select the "products" link on the left hand side of the page...then in the windown that opens in the frame...select "Bosal Performance Tips".....it shows the entire line of tips for their systems....you have to look for the ones that say they are flanged.

Question gaskets

How did the bosal gaskets work when compared to the O-ring gaskets and the pipe recesss that Mazda uses. The stock pipes I've seen have a recess for the O-ring. Will the bosal gaskets fit or do you have to use both? If just using the bosal gasket will it seal???

Mine didnt seal on the Bosal. Not sure about whether or not it was because it was not tight enough or because of the style. But I did recently get a Mazda gasket for it. And in the process of replacing gasket, I stripped both studs!! So, I had to take it into the muffler shop & have them put new studs on the cat. But, now Im back to normal! Havent had any other people say they've had problems. Must have been a bad install on my behalf.

the actual flange on the bosal pieces have more MEAT on them....and thus a larger sealing surface....the gaskets as supplied work fine.......YOUR question was the first thing that crossed my mind when I disassembled it and saw the spiral wound gaskets, what you called o-rings. ANYWAY....mine sealed just fine....no problems at all. its just important that you tighten two bolt flanges like this very evenly....so that you don't get one side tight first...causing one side not to get enough crush on the gasket...and thus it leaks.
