To Anyone Who Has A K&N Filter In Their ES...

How much miles/kilometres were you getting before putting the filter in, and how much are you getting with the filter in? And do you notice any more power from the filter? (Acceleration etc)

You are not going to notice much. The main advantage is the filter last longer and just needs to be cleaned.

Just as a223818 says, I noticed nothing in power or mileage when I had one before doing the CAI. I had one to save $$$$. Also I noticed it needed to be cleaned more often than K&N says in thier literature. Anyone wants one I'll give it to you for shipping costs.

I didn't really care for more power but for more fuel economy, what would you suggest in this situation besides a K&N

The first time I put my filter in about 2 years ago when I bought the car I remember feeling a better throttle response than stock, but not much compared to an intake system. In terms of its gas saving advantage, I didn't really notice any difference.

when i put mine in a few months ago there was a noticible difference in response, the engine breathes better and revs a little faster. My milage has actually been better since then, but that could be from buying better gas (cheveron) or a number of other factors. If nothing else id recommend it just because you wont ever have to buy another filter.

I am just curious did you drill your air box after you added your K&N air filter. B/c I did before and after. After I installed the k&n I did notice a difference in throttle response and gas milage. As far as true horsepower numbers. That's beyond me. All i know is it sounds and runs better.

I sell K&N Filters at my work. Like a223818 said, yeah in a 4-cyl you won't really notice that much perf. increase. BUT, I put K&N filters in two other 4cyl cars of mine and fuel economy getting better is definately noticeable...
