annoying noise

Dear all,

having 2003 Protege5 for 9 month and 10xxx miles on it ..I found that there's some rattle noice from the rear of the car...It's really sucks..coz I was thinking some bolts or clips were loosen or something......

One day, my bro-in-law sat in the back and said " the noise comes from the rear plate frame"...I was ?? I removed both dealer plate frames already..so what the hell it is? Then one day after work, I remove the rear plate..and remove the black plastic thing that fixed to the rear hatch door...and found that the little foam tapes work as cusions are GONE.....that's why the plastic thing kept rattling..... so I put new double-sided foam tapes on it and also on the plates....

now the noises are GONE.....hey hey..glad not to take the dashboard apart...

I have not heard of noise from my rear plates, but I hear of people having noise from the chrome piece that surrounds the exhaust pipe. I guess it is rattling away esp. at idle. At least your problem was easily solved.
