AEM bypass valve

Question AEM bypass valve

Which side of MAF would i install the bypass valve if i was installing injen CAI throttle body side or the filter side?

he might lose some power..but if he wants the sound and it will help a little, its worth it as a saftey precaution. no point in locking th engine up. just my 2 cents really dont matter..lol.

i'd put it on the filter side also. it only makes sense. you wouldn't want the water to go into the MAF. Although i don't know if water affects the MAF or not.

bypass valve

thanks for the quick answer guys. Will i really loose any power because of a bypass valve? and why?

Yes you will really will lose power with the bypass valve, as it restricts the maximum air flow that intake was designed for. Unless you are driving around in swamplands, or some flooded plain don't waste your money on it. Not only will you waste the chedda on the bypass valve but you will in essence be wastin the money you spent for the performance of the CAI as well. **** I live in Oregon where its rains all the damn time. I've my Injen CAI with no bypass valve for oh about 6 months now with no issues. Don't bother with the bypass valve in my opinion, as it is just an unnecessary safeguard for manufacturer's to make more money off the consumer.

DITTO...... we have had a very lengthy discussion in the past about this very subject.....do a search and use BYPASS VALVE as the search item...I think you will find more reading that you bargined for.
