Question adjustment warrenty

So in talking to a few number of protege owners and reading a bunch of posts it seems that not many people are aware of the adjustment warrenty. This strikes me as kind of odd.

Regardless, I have a question for those of you who know about it and have used it. My dealer tells me if I want anything adjusted or checked in the first 12 months it is covered by mazda. Has anyone ever made any real serious requests of mazda under this warrenty? I hear a lot of people saying the car has a little rattle here or there. Anyone ever got mazda to take care of any of these little rattles? I am currently compiling a list of stuff for them to check when I first take the car in, but want to know what to expect.

One other thing, I was curious to know what people's dealerships have been charging for oil changes. My co-worker has a protege and his dealership told him oil changes also involve "maintanence checks" costs him 60 canadian for an oil change. My dealership told me 23 canadian but I haven't taken it in for the first change yet.

I was at the dealer for some oil filters, and stopped at the service department to ask about a clutch adjustment. They told me there wasn't an adjustment, which was only partly true, and wanted to put me in a rental car so they could replace the clutch. Sounded like typical dealer BS to me, they make work for themselves and bill Mazda for it under warranty. I adjusted the pedal and push rod myself later.

oil changes

I'm in Ontario Canada and my oil changes cost about $35 per visit. Every 24 thousand km a "majour" comes up which includes brake adjustments, tire rotating, oil, filter total maintenance check up. It's a little bit more expensive, mine was $60 give or take, but I've heard of them being upwards of $100

I complain about every rattle, ping and abnormality that bugs me. They are really good about solving the problems. You buy new to avoid hassel, If I wanted to fix my own "qwerks" I'd still be driving my truck, not paying monthly

I haven't had any pings, knocks, or rattles yet, but i am always keeping an eye out for one (just in case) my dealer charges about $25 CAD for an oil change in Calgary I think, but I think you can buy an oil change card which gives you 5 for $100. Good deal if you ask me - I think i just talked myself into getting one... from what I understand though, its just my dealer. (Sorry boys)

So am I! My oil changes cost about 25, but I don't think they check any fluids or anything. I haven't had my first yet so I can't say.

Dude, what are you doing for winter tires? I think I am going to give the stockers a try for the first little while. My friend has a 00 protege and had no problems with the original tires.

winter tires

I used the stock Firestone's for the first winter and had no problems at all. To make the car unstable I had to really try hard. This year I will probably get some Blizzaks, I need to replace the stock tires due to overly aggressive cornering and accelerating. I was going to get stock tires again for the winter but for the price of one Firestone I can get two blizzaks.

My car isn't really that bad, I've just driven her a little too hard on occasion, tends to loosen up little annoying things such as my seat, interior door panel, and some how I managed to get the hood to vibrate, the dealership has fixed it all(except the tire situation) without any complaint. They actually encourage me to continue the customizing that I'm doing to it. All their staff has complimented me on how well under the hood looks. It's good to know that they aren't totally against us.
