2.0L Supercharger

not 100% sure yet as it will depend on how much of the plumbing I can get in one piece. I'd rather have 3 large pipes that require no clamps/silicone/extra weight. I will get a serious count as soon as I get the bracket from Dave.
I'd assuming about 8-10 including 2 reducers.

I think from my prospective I am concerned most about the show aspect of the kit.
In looking at the various turbo'ed mazdas I am most impressed with the hiboosted/(fmic) kit, with the bigger core that fills the entire lower grille.
In addition, I realize the bypass valve setup is more practical from many aspects, but would also like to see an option for a BOV with the kit.
So, do you think the possibility exists, for hehe say a "baller" option....matching or (all black) couplers, bigger core, and BOV setup? I"m definetly game for the extra money (when the time comes), as I never plan to take this to the track, and rarely will I run people on the streets.

Well I've gotten ticketed for street racing on the highway and managed to loose my license for 6 months, and get probation for a year. Not to mention my insurance costs nearly 6 grand a year in addition to all the fines I had associated with the "offense".
So, after at least a year of hell, I now know better.
Plus, after reading and seeing mazda's blow up at the track I have no desire to rag my car like that. I don't believe this engine can take it anyway.
Just my view.

Secondly, BOV option.....I want you to really think about this before you do it. I can weld on the bov flange and set it up for you....not a problem. The problem is that you will encounter a lot of driveability stumbles with this supercharger kit and "vent-to-atmosphere" bov. The ecu has already calibrated for that air to be in the intake tract when the throttle body snaps shut. If that air is not there less than a second later when the TB opens back up you're going to run pig-rich until gets more air. Bypass valves are not required on anything under 6psi. from 6psi to 12psi a bypass (recirculating valve) is HIGHLY recommended for tuning purposes and smoothness of driveability. Anything above 14psi (atmospheric pressure or bar) a Bov is fine for. Sadly, the BD-6 in this kit will not make more than 12psi and running 12 psi on that blower will cause more problems with bearing life and belt breakages.
My "baller" kit will come with a GOOD SIZED (properly spec'd for this application, not over-kill) FMIC, the 9psi pulley, new spark plugs and all hoses and clamps needed. I really dont think you guys know how much power 9psi is going to be on this kit. To put into perspective the BD-6 @ 9psi is what Powerdyne uses for it's Corvette's and Cobra's....
I'm going to do all testing on the 6psi kit and then add the fmic to see what gains there are if any. Then I will start working the 9psi kit.

right now it's looking like....
bolt-on, reliable, no other upgrades, will not blow the motor.......Intercooler is the only thing changing. If you read some of my more current posts on this you'll see why.
p.s. I can get you 200whp for about $1300. On the bottle though but it's still 200whp!

I just saw Tuner Transformation and they just supercharged a Pontiac Sunfire. They used a kit made by RSM Racing. What is interesting about the install is the supercharger is driven by the cam gear. I have a piece of it on video and linked it here. I know it's not much more power but still interesting.

oh God, I wouldn't even begin to try that. If they got it to work more power to them. I'm never going to go that route! I can't imagine putting a load on the cam gear that a supercharger would provide.

Wow - go away for awile and look at all that transpires!!!
Awesome Matty - seems like its really coming together!
So now that DaveB is involved, is a set of gauge rings coming with the kit?

you know, thats not a bad idea. He said he had about 150 sets of rings left over from his last GB of people not following through like they said they would.
