good idea? and could i hook one up on a protege? looking to keep my car as long as possible and thi would help out with the life

yup good idea, you can get one that has a combo tranny oil cooler to extend the life of the oil and transmision.

know where to get any? or can i just go to a j-yard and pick one up off a truck and work from there?

Its very simple actually Iff you have an auto you already have the lines to cool the tranny fluid going though the stock radiator. Just pull them out of the radiator and into the new cooler.

as long as it will fit inside your bumper thats a good way to do it cheap !
