See this website:

Place selling AEM intake

It says the intake is for Manual Transmissions only? Is this correct? I thought the AEM intake fitted both tranny models. Is ths a different AEM than what people on this board are purchasing?

yeah, its got different intake bearings..

be very very VERY careful when selecting intakes as if you get one with the wrong intake bearing then, you could blow up your engine by oil deprivation.

okay just joking!!!!! HAHA...hehehe...funny huh? oh well.....hope so.

as for the intake being MT only? Bull Crapola!!!!! dont listen to them, just buy it anyways. Although i would be leary of buying an intake from a place that says something like that!

or for craps and giggles, when you call them, ask them if it will mess up your intakes "throttle path plates" if you buy it. (this does not exist. just so you know.) if they say "yes" , then hang-up!!!

if ya need any other help just email me.

Maybe I'll get two transmissions. An auto and manual. That way I'll have all my bases covered

Thanks for the advice though.

Actually it is. The AEM 2.0L Short ram only fits the Manual Tranny. It wont fit the auto tranny. I called AEM about it today. They said you have to use the 1.8L intake for the 2.0L auto trannys. So:

2001-2002 Manual 2.0L uses 481 AEM
99-2001 1.8L all & 2001-2002 2.0L Autos used 480
