Team moon exhaust

ok, I did a search and I didn't find anything real recent, so, does anyone have the Team Moon exhaust installed on there P5? I'm just trying to look at all the different Cat-back systems for my car. Anyone with info on the Team Moon exhaust please let me know what your feelings are about it. Does it have good sound? Does it boost the hp any? any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've got a Moon.

Maybe this doesn't qualify as something "recent", but it's still valid. I have a Team Moon exhaust.

It went on pretty easy, although it took me a few tries and a few phone calls to Charlie in order to get it adjusted so that it didn't bang against the rear fender.

It sounds good, especially at idle. I find the resonance at highway speeds a little annoying, but I expect you'll have that any time you go with a louder exhaust.

I haven't dyno'd the car before and after, so I don't know if there's an actual HP boost, but it does feel more responsive.

It works well with my Injen CAI, I think.

Man, that exhaust looks great. It looks really close to the bumper cut out though. Do you have any problems with that getting too hot and melting the bumper?

Yes, especially at first. But Charlie told me how to fix it. By supporting the exhaust pipes with a jack while tightening the bolts, it will tighten up into a better position where it is further from the bodywork.

The main problem I have is the exhaust banging against the frame near the rear suspension. Jacking and retightening helped that problem, too, but in some cases I still get a bit of a rattle.

The fit ain't perfect, but it's good, and everything else is nice.

I had the same problem of the exhaust banging my frame (vibrant exhaust) just brought it to a muffler shop and they heated the exaust and bent it a bit.. now it doesnt hit or rub... much better.

wrapping exhaust parts is not really a good idea for a street car...it make the metal rust much quicker then w/o.....

Yes, I had a few misgivings about wrapping the exhaust pipes, thinking that the tape might retain water and accellerate rust, but the pipes are stainless steel, and I figure that the heat of the exhaust pipe will dry the tape out pretty fast if it gets wet.

Nevertheless, I plan to unwrap the pipes and inspect them in the Spring.

i bought the team moon exhaust...and it sounded loud especially with the >4" tip...so i went to the local midas and had a smaller 2.5" tip welded on after the other was cut off and it and made a huge difference in sound (no longer buzzy but aggressive)...the tip is where the exhausts makes the loudest sounds b/c of the echo...larger the tip the bigger the echo the louder/buzzier it gets

i talked with charlie about changing the tip b/c they think its too big and they are reviewing what to do

this exhaust will get a workout when the turbo kit that is being built will get installed (helping a shop out with the build)
