The problems with turbos on proteges is our weak rods and poor ecu. A hiboost kit will come with a haltech F10X fuel computer (8 wire install) and has been proven the most reliable kit on the market. I've only heard of 1 hiboost car with a stock engine blowing. Keep the boost at what he sets it at and you'll be good to go all day. HiBoost is also cheaper iirc.

Check Protegegarage.com for best pricing.
So the pre-programmed ECU the hiboost kit comes with, includes the Haltech? That makes like a lot easier, and helps explain the $4,000 price. iirc?

Thanks for the input, if I get the hiboost kit, I shouldn't need to replace anything else, other than exhaust?

If you have Aim I'd like to get your input on a few other things. Mine is xXSinZeroXx. I'm thinking about Cams, and a lightened flywheel.

contact Ken at protegegarage.com for better pricing on the Hiboost kits. And "yes" about the ecu question.

my aim is "MazdaMattyP5" but I'm hardly ever on anymore.

Better pricing? You want me to haggle the guy via e-mail, on a $4,000 kit? Do tell.

www.protegegarage.com get his phone number or email. Tell him you spoke to Matty on protegeclub.com and you want a hiboost Kit for your car. Ask him what he can do for you. Then thank me later.
