No plans at the moment, sorry. I'll bet SpoolinMP3 could make you one.

I belive braden (turboge) is making a kit for the 1.6ls.

hahaha... Well, the $2k+- price quote he gave seems to be a really good price for a quality kit (if that's in fact what it will be, hehe). $3500 for a good kit with a haltech ECU is a good deal in my book, I'd be willing to guess you could reliabley get a 50+% increase in power easily with the haltech. It's all about the tuning baby!

Indeed. I think 2.5-2.75 (if they even bother to make 2.75" exhaust) would be good enough for these engines. I do belive, however 3" and up would be too big for the limited potential of the engine (read: tranny). So without some major tranny work, 3" exhaust would be useless and probably detrimental. I think the general rule of thumb is up to 200 hp 2.25", up to 270 or so 2.5", and any higher than that would be around 3" or so. I need to write those numbers down once I find them again.

From our testing, you'll have to be pushing at least 15 psi before a 3" will show any advantage over a 2.5" exhaust on a Protegé. The 3" won't do any harm at all, but it's money, weight and effort that isn't needed.

We've tested Miatas with both 2.5" and 3" exhaust systems. Below 15 psi, the bigger pipe just made no difference in spoolup or peak power. It's just not needed in that case - there's not enough airflow.

The Protegé exhaust has a spot where it hops over the axle. Putting a 3" pipe in there may be a challenge. Take into account the cost and the extra weight, and bigger may not be the best choice.

Our manifold is a cast log-style, yes. Great for longevity.
