Question Protege 5 Intake?

I've got a quick question. I hear that the best MP5 instake is made by Injen - is this true? Further, my father said that he had a K&N Intake that was made for a small car that we could adjust to fit the Prot5 (for free! =). Should I do this or would I get better performance/be safer going with the Injen (or other intake?)?

Thanks in advance

go with the one your Dad has. It's hard to beat free!

I Like K&N especially if it is free, but just make sure that you are not doing the Ghetto intake job. Injen is nice for looks and CAI. AEM looks good but it takes in more heated engine air.

I personnaly prefer the Injen CAI... nice sound, gains, and looks! However, you can't beat a free K&N intake. Take it and run. Intakes don't add that much power anyways...

Would the K&N sound the same as all others? Do they all sound the same?

If it got a cone style filter, it will be louder, quite a bit more than stock. The sound versus others depends on the size of the piping, size of the filter, and if you put a microphone next to it with a speaker, everyone could hear it

Is this K&N setup, like a short ram? If it is, take some time to come up with a heat sheild, or some sort of way to get cold air to the filter. You then can enjoy free power
