proteg5online injen CAI

i was considering ordering one of these today. but before i do i was wondering if the ones that mitch has are the older smaller diameter piping 2.25 i think, or the newer ones with 2.75 (i believe) tubing.

also i guess its ok to post this here. if not sorry for putting it in the wrong board.

He gets em from the distributor so what ever Injen is putting out is what I would expect him to have.

thats what im hoping, but you never know. he may have orderd a lot of the old ones, and not have gotten rid of them. and i was reading around, and found that the original CAI only gave around 1hp at the wheels, while the lager diameter tubing gave upwards of 5hp gain at the wheels. most of what i read was from feb/march, but id rather be sure than spend $240 on 1hp, when i could get 5hp for the same price.

I got one from mitch some time ago...don't know exactly what the diameter of the tubing is without going out and measureing it....however...I do know that its the same as teh MAF....if that tells you anything.

hmm, well i guess that is a good enough answer for me. anyways, its not going to allow any more air through the intake than the MAF will allow, so even if the piping is bigger than the MAF, it would do no good. and odds are this would be the one im looking for. and also i noticed you have both the injen and the bosal, which are the two things im trying to decide between at the moment. which of the two would you recommend getting first. im thinking about the bosal, just out of fear of him not having them for another 3 months when i finally get back around to getting something else. but the injen would fit my budget a bit better right now, even though i can afford both.

one other thing. ive never gotten windows tinted before and i was considering getting that done and getting the injen, but i dont know how much to expect to pay for tinting. anybody have a rough estimate of what i should expect.

anybody have any suggestions as to whether i should get a intake or exhaust first. im planning to buy something by the end of the month hopefully. also if mitch happens to read this, or anybody who has ordered from him, about how much is the total cost usually with shipping and paypal on the silver injen. im really leaning towards the bosal, but i cant decide. and the racing beat catback is looking better the more i look at it. ah, i hate making decisions that involve my limited cash flow.

sorry I didn't get back sooner...don't know how i missed this one before...

yep I got both...and I did get them at the same time along with my B&M....

IF I were you...and I intended to get the Bosal....and knowing what the states went through here recently with the backorder garbage....and I KNEW I could only afford ONE of the two now...I think I would get the Bosal exhaust first....and not take a chance of it getting out of stock and having to wait....I have never heard of the intake being unavailable..so when you are ready for that you can just get it.

There have been BIG discussions on window tinting...and it seems to me from reading them that the cost is somewhat regional....some areas cheaper then others .... around where I am it will run you about $160 for a GOOD Quality job that will carry a life time, as long as you own the car Warrantee from a reputable shop......as far as tint shops go....ask people you know....contact a local car club.....dig around and look for local satisfied customers of the shops in your area...and use that information to make your decision where to get the job done.....just remember...YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. cheap does not always mean you got a good deal.

sweet thanks for the reply. i will probably order the bosal then. i was going to do that, but my girlfriend (as usual) got me thinking about the cost, and i just couldnt decide. but i would hate to not be able to get one.

also i know a great place that does window tint around my home town, that offers a lifetime warrenty. they will even carry the warrenty over on the car to the second owner if you sell it off. i had a friend who had a 92 civic wagon, he bought from somebody. there was a recall on the tint in his car because of it turning purple. they called the original owner who said he didnt own the car anymore. they got my friends number, called him and replaced the tint in his entire car for free even though none of his tint was fading yet. i priced tint for my 93 mirage with them about 5 years ago, which was going to be around $180 then, but i wasnt sure whether prices had dropped or increased over the past few years. also i think it was going to be more for that car because the back glass was slightly curved or something. thanks for the quick reply.

one last question for now. if i get the bosal and decide i want the silencer for it does anybody know a good dealer to order it through that wont rip me off. it really sucks not having any good performance parts shops around.

I ask Mitch about that a long time ago just in case...you may want to ask him again but he told me then that HE could get me one if I wanted it.....he just didn't normally stock them.

this is a good night. i called up my mom earlier since its her b-day, and was talking to her for a bit. she asked me what i wanted for christmas. being a few months till christmas i was surprised, but i was like, i guess id like to have some stuff for my car, like an exhaust or intake, or some wheels. she said just pick out whatever exhuast i want for my car and let her know where to get it from and she will get it for me for christmas. this leaves me open to get the intake and my windows tinted in the next couple weeks if i want. man, it pays to remember my moms birthday. lol.
