OBX 4-1 Header Corrosion Prevention

I'm curious if it would be beneficial to paint the header before installation. My thought is it would help to prevent corrosion and could also add an interesting look. I've heard powder coating mentioned before for heat tranfer, but would it help prevent corrosion as well? I live in upstate NY where the roads are covered with salt 5 months of the year so I'd hate to put $200 into a header and have it rust out in 2 years. I actually have the same question about the magnaflow cat back exhaust i'm planning on buying...any thoughts?

BTW, I just got my MIL eliminator and it's made from two inexpensive standard electrical components soldered to two wires and shrink rapped...Guess what I'm really paying for is the research it took to figure out which components to use...just wish I coulda figured it out on my own. I may try to figure it out and make a few for bulk if there's enough interest.

If the header is made of good quality stainless steel, you will not need to worry about it rusting. Stainless steel is highly resistant to corrosion.

my obx header isn't coated and looks very cool...it's a bronze-ish copper tint color. Looks very nice and people always compliment me on it....like I had anything to do with it!!

Hey Matty - I'll bet that color resulted from all of the heat. My stainless Wagner is now a bronze-ish color as well.
