Question no such thing as a stupid question?... KL-ZE?

will it fit?

are the motor mounts different? how much work would this include? Im looking at the Millenia Motor, what about the trannies? is this impossible?

that sucks, Im just looking into all my options at the moment, but has anyone actually tried it?

I was just figuring the old Mx6s, FS and KL, same mounts right? im guesssing this was only for the Mx6/probe body though.

Im not trying to be thick headed, just want to know why wont it fit?

isnt the motor cheaper?

I was looking into it myself, and have since dropped the idea. The spread between the cylinder heads is too great to fit in the car. The KL motors are very wide (looking at the car from the side...FWD!) There is room if you run no exhaust manifolds or headers...and the rad would have to be mounted to the front bumper (astetically a no-no!)
The idea is great...I wanted the 200hp and a beautiful torque curve...but I think it can't be done.

The mounting points are different on 2nd Gen Probes. To put a 2.5L (KLD or KLZE) into an FS Probe, tons of stuff has to be changes. Engine, tranny, wiring, ECU, suspension, mounts, axles, gauge cluster, etc. I'm sure it would be very much the same (probably MORE complicated) for a new Protege.

it's called lots and lots of money. i'll back up jesse... build your FS. slap on a custom turbo for a lot cheaper, or start swapping in parts from the j-spec version. Bolt on kits are out there.. take advantage of the aftermarket that is coming out for your engines people. When no one takes advantage of the aftermarket currently out for the 1.5's, 1.6's, 1.8's, and 2.0's... thats when they stop making aftermarket for them. (hence why there's no friggin aftermarket for the 1.5's and 1.6's) "If you build it... they will come." Built up your FS, aftermarket will explode.
