my new "intake"...hey air is air right??
nah, the pictures dont show it, but it is not in a bad location...it's 100% out of the way of the fan blast and NOWHERE near the exhaust. This is however just temporary until my AEM CAI comes in.

I agree GNO, I saw the movement but I hit it under several different conditions and the intake had no problem moving with the engine. I sued the one bracket as a way to keep the MAF and plumbing from bobbing up and down.....with it set up the way I've got it it really only moves under a hard launch and I don't think ANYTHING is going to keep that down except some good motor mounts.
the intake looks great! one question i do have is that the first pic of the intake in this thread the air filter is down in the hole. the one you just installed is still in the engine bay, now is it because the first one has an extension on it that they attached to it cuz it looks longer. anyways you have one and i dont ! damn it need to get my crap together and decide on injen or ebay
If you read the entire thread I mentioned that the first picture was of what I ordered...then I mentioned after inspection that the pieces I ordered were the SRI, not the CAI.
I'm very happy with the $35 I spent for the Ebay SRI.

I'm not here to say wether these intakes make a difference or not, but I will say this: I ran my car tonight at the drag strip and my car was consistantly faster. Prior to tonight I was running a constant 10.6s 1/8th mile with an all time fastest of 10.58s. After adding the $35 Ebay SRI I ran a consistant 10.53s. It seemed my car was deadlocked at that time. Also, my first ever quartermile numbers were also impressive....16.47s.....
I'm going to make a new thread about it and go into detail, but I thought I would share that my car seems to have picked up a healthy bit of top end pull with this. It does feel though that low end torque is somewhat down....just a little.
I was skeptical at first but this has been the best $35 I've spent on a car part.....EVER.

I don't notice any decrease in driving characteristics. It only feels a little soft on torque when shifting hard from 1-2. Prior to this I could squall second a good bit, but now it's just a chirp.

First time I ever ordered anything on ebay and using well attempting to use paypal as it has been givingm e problems
